Announcing the Pre-Release Team, making a bulletproof Tweetboard

Written By Juan Carlos Muriente on October 5th, 2009

shieldThe Tweetboard team has been working hard behind the scenes, and is getting ready to put a bunch of new features out the door.

While in the past we have released features to all TB instances simultaneously, we have determined that it works best when rolling out features to a smaller number of users. This allows us to a) test new functionality more extensively, b) tweak features on the fly with little/no impact to our general userbase, c) gauge our audience’s interest in a specific feature and d) overall, bring you a more polished product when each feature finally gets released.

For these reasons we have created the Tweetboard Pre-Release Team, a group of brave Twitter/Tweetboard users who will be getting immediate access to our roll-outs, once features have passed the initial QA phase. The group is currently composed of 44 users, however we are taking requests via our ticket system to officially join the Team.

Please feel free to submit a request to join the pre-release team if:

  • You own a highly trafficked site (OR)
  • You have 1000 (+) Twitter followers (OR)
  • You consider yourself a “Conversational” Twitter user (you often reply to your followers, and they reply back) (OR)
  • You consider yourself a “Broadcasting” Twitter user (you seldom reply to your followers, or you don’t get many replies) (OR)
  • You have previous QA testing experience (and are good at it!) (OR)
  • You don’t meet any of the above requirements, but you are a BIG Tweetboard fan :)

Note: Approval is not guaranteed. Please be patient, we are processing these requests manually.

  • Still waiting for a response to our comment concerning the client being unavailable. Happy to be on the pre-release team, but how can we help if we can't use the thing?
  • Hi Todd,

I am sorry I haven't seen any previous queries about this. The client is still undergoing internal testing as we are not 100% happy with some of the key aspects. We hope to release it soon.

Please keep in mind however that we have already released some features to the Pre-release team exclusively including the Private Label and Bookmarklet options. Please see your settings menu for more on these.

    Ceri
  • thank you for adding me to the pre-release team for tweetboard :)
  • is there some options that we can edit via CSS?
like what stuff is called? :)
ps.. I got the application working :)
  • >>is there some options that we can edit via CSS?
Yes, you can override any CSS property by entering it in the custom box. We'll offer a list of Classes and what they change via the style wiki (http://extend.tweetboard.com/Styles)

    >>like what stuff is called? :)
We plan to offer "phrasing" and translations in the near future! :)

    >>ps.. I got the application working :)
Sweet. I know the settings layout is still not as usable as it could be, but we are improving that atm. Thanks for your help during the pre-release testing phase, we are immensely grateful!
  • -great I'll check out the wiki
-I was talking about the "classes" I guess.. like how do I make background: #00000 or something similar
-looking good so far, keep up the good work :)
  • The classes that can be used will be added to the wiki page that Juan linked to soon, I am currently working on the page.

    Basic one that would allow you to set the overlay (main background black) would be .tb_overlay { }
  • right on, I look forward to playing around with it tonight after work :)
  • apik apik... keep apik yao?? ^_^
  • and so did I
  • Your application has been received and processed. Thank you for your interest.

    Ceri
  • I've applied, wish me luck :)
  • Welcome to the team, we are constantly rolling out new features so keep an eye on the settings menu for updates.
  • Thanks CezzBB
I tried to add my own application and got a big fatal error, and now I can't sign in to TB or see the settings option
  • I have reset the Private Label feature so you will be able to login again, please open a ticket if this happens again so I can find the fault.

    Ceri
  • still getting an error
going to submit a support ticket
